Privacy Policy
Last updated July 3, 2026
Long Lost Gamers helps people reconnect using gaming handles and related profile information. This policy explains what information we process, why we process it, and your choices.
Information we collect
- Account information: identifiers and profile details provided through Firebase Authentication, such as your email address, display name, and authentication provider. We do not receive your authentication-provider password.
- Content you provide: gamer handles, networks, games, years played, profile details, and information about people you are trying to find.
-
Discord information: if you link Discord, we
request the
identifyandconnectionsOAuth scopes. We receive your Discord user ID, username, display name, and connected external gaming accounts made available by Discord, including account type, name, identifier, and verification status. We do not receive your Discord password, private messages, servers, or contacts. - Technical information: our infrastructure providers may process IP addresses, browser or device details, request logs, and security or diagnostic information needed to operate and protect the service.
How we use information
- provide authentication, profiles, search, and account linking;
- import and refresh identities you authorize through Discord;
- prevent abuse, secure the service, and enforce our Terms; and
- respond to support requests and send service-related updates.
What other people can see
Long Lost Gamers is designed around searchable profiles. Gamer handles, gaming networks, games, years played, and imported account indicators may be visible to users or visitors. Your email address and OAuth credentials are not shown publicly. Do not add information that you do not want searchable or public, including sensitive personal information about yourself or another person.
Service providers and disclosures
We use Google Firebase for authentication and hosting, Convex for backend data and functions, and Discord when you link or sync a Discord account. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, investigate abuse, or complete a transfer of the service with appropriate notice or safeguards.
We do not sell personal information, use it for targeted advertising, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or share it for another party's direct marketing.
Discord credentials and disconnecting
Discord access and refresh tokens are encrypted at rest and used only for authorized syncs. Disconnecting stops future syncs, clears stored OAuth credentials, and triggers an attempt to revoke the Discord token. Previously imported handles may remain marked as no longer actively synced so you can review or remove them.
Retention, security, and international processing
We retain account information and content while your account is active and as reasonably needed to operate the service, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, or meet legal obligations. Provider logs and backups follow provider retention schedules. We use reasonable safeguards, but no online service guarantees absolute security. Providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate.
Your choices
- You can edit or remove profile content through the service.
- You can disconnect Discord in linked-account settings.
- You can request access to or deletion of your account information by contacting us. We may verify your identity and retain limited information where permitted or required.
- You can opt out of non-essential emails.
Children
The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information so we can review it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service changes. We will post revisions here and update the date. We may provide additional notice of material changes.
